AeroPrecision Requirement

PPL | Night Rating | Instrument Rating | CPL | ALTP

To obtain any license the student has to be proficient in the English language and have a basic knowledge of mathematics.

Private Pilots Licence

A Private Pilots Licence (PPL) is your first step to becoming a pilot, whether private or commercial.

PPL Requirements

Course
25 hours dual, 15 hours solo and 5 hours instruments, totaling 45 hours flight time (minimum)
50 hours ground school (minimum)
Pass mark 75% for theoretcial exam:
  • Air Law
  • Meteorology
  • Navigation
  • Radio Telephony Procedures
  • Engines, Airframes and Instruments
  • Principles of Flight
Pass a General Handling and Navigation Flight Test
Complete a Restricted Radio Course
 
Medical
Class 2 medical certificate issued by a qualified medical examiner
 
Legal
Students must be at least 16 years of age to obtain a private pilots licence
 


Night Rating

A night rating allows you to fly an aircraft during the night, allowing you more freedom on your time schedules.
Night Rating Requirements

Course
A valid PPL
10 hours instrument flying time and 5 hours night flying totaling 15 hours
 


Instrument Rating

An instrument rating will increase your safety knowledge and job opportunities.

A valid Night Rating
50 hours instrument flying time
 


Commercial Pilots Licence with an Instrument Rating

A Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL) is your ticket to becoming a professional commercial pilot.

CPL Requirements

A valid Instrument Rating
Completion of theoretical subjects:
  • Human Performance
  • Aviation Meteorology
  • Aircraft Technical and General
  • Radio Aids
  • Instruments
  • Navigation General
  • Air Law and Procedures
  • Plotting
  • Flight Planning
200 hours flight time of which 100 hours should be solo
Pass of theoretical commercial exams written at the CAA
 
Medical
Class 1 medical certificate issued by a qualified medical examiner
 
Legal
Students must be at least 18 years of age to obtain a commercial pilots licence
 


Airline Transport Pilots Licence

ALTP Requirements

Legal
Students must be at least 21 years of age to obtain an airline pilots license
